PROBUS Global Update
November 2025
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our dear friend and the President of PROBUS Global, Richard Furlong, on October 24, 2025.
As you all know, Richard was the heart and soul of PROBUS Global. It was his initiative in 2017 that inspired a small group of us to begin work on forming an international community of PROBUS members interested in communicating and sharing our thoughts and ideas.
Richard took over as President in 2021, and his enthusiasm and support for our activities was the very core of our organization.
We will miss him greatly. He leaves some huge shoes to fill.
Richard’s obituary and a guest book for sharing memories and condolences can be found at the following link:

Rest in peace, dear friend.
We will schedule a Zoom meeting in November of the management team and any other interested members to appoint a new president and discuss plans for PROBUS Global in 2026. If you wish to attend, please let us know.
It is not too late to submit an article for our December Newsletter. The editor, Geoffrey Lloyd, is looking for short (200 to 500 word) news or information that might be of interest to Probians.
If you haven’t read our September PDF newsletter yet, it is still available on the PROBUS Global website. You will also find newsletters from various clubs around the world who share their news with us.
We fed the newsletter into NotebookLM, an AI tool, and it generated an unboxing video, which turned out to be a very good introduction to Probus and PROBUS Global. It also created versions in French, Japanese, Spanish, German, and Dutch. Watch them on our YouTube Channel.
